Configure Systems Restore
Found that Disk Usage Space allocation for Systems protection on C:\ gets reset to 0%,
and hence all previously created Restore Points get auto deleted,
each and every time the machine gets rebooted after it was previously run under the Windows 7 Operating System.
Switching Operating Systems is not an uncommon thing for developers and other enthusiasts.
Thus far there had been no problems doing this with Windows 8 Pro and Windows 7 Home Premium.
However Windows 8.1 Pro seems notoriously iffy when it comes to the Systems Restore Settings;
as it demands of the user to reallocate the required Disk Usage Space each time it is booted.
Therefore, anyone who ignores this will be left without Restore Points supposedly created by Cleanup or Install Applications doing this automatically, unless the user is aware of this quirk and reestablishes the required Systems Protection Space allocation
on the relevant drive.
Turning the machine off entirely will not affect Systems Restore Settings.
The problem only becomes know when switching between Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 Pro.
Its almost like something dislikes the continual comparison between the two Operating Systems, and or the exchange of Systems Information, seemingly bypassing some of the latest Security features boasted about with Windows 8.1.
Why is this so??
Anwsers to the Problem Configure Systems Restore
Machine Throttling- Click the Start button.
- In the Search box, type "regedit" (without quotes) and press Enter.
- Look for the following registry key: "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ Microsoft\ SQMClient\Windows\DisabledSessions".
- On the right window pane, delete the subkey: "Machine Throttling".
- Restart your computer.
