Delete Windows XP Partition from Windows 7??

I have a dual boot system having both windows Xp and Windows 7.
Both Xp and 7 are in different partitions.
I intend to log into my Windows 7, go to the disk management and delete Windows XP partition.
Is it possible that I can delete Windows XP partition
while I am logged into my Windows 7???? And if it is possible , then HOW?

When you're in Windows 7 it normally takes the C: letter.  You'll probably see the Boot folder on your D: partition.

What do you mean by " Windows 7 in Windows Xp?"   As a virtual machine?  What is it you actually want to accomplish?  Why do you want to remove the XP?    Is it a matter of disk space?

• In the Save In list, select the folder where you want to save the Windows Operating System backup key.
• In the File Name box, type a name for your backup file, such as "Windows Operating System Backup".
• In the Export Range box, be sure that "Selected branch" is selected.
• Click Save.
• The file is then saved with a .reg file extension.
• You now have a backup of your MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION-related registry entry.
