Fast Solution to Problem: Autocorrect is not working when starting Microsoft Word

Autocorrect is not working when starting Microsoft Word

I have the following problem:
When I start Microsoft Word, it seems the autocorrect is not working yet.
The wrong words are not underlined, untill I press ENTER on the keyboard.
Is it normal?
Before I had impression, that atucorrect is working as soon as I run Microsoft Word, but now when I'm typing first sentence, I see no autocorrections, until I hit Enter on the keyboard.
Also...
when I open Microsoft Word, there is no icon on the bottom of atocorrect operating.
But as soon as I press one letter, it shows.
So it tells me it is working, but in practice it is not, until I press enter.
So my question is: Is it normal, or is there some option, where I can change it, so that the autocorrection functions from the first sentence I'm writing?
Thank you

My Asus N300 router quit on me and I replaced it with a d-link N150.  When I go to available connection the old router still show up and I also get a message that I have a conflict as the same IP address is on my network twice.  How can
this be as the router was returned under warranty and all software uninstalled.
Thanks,
Jim

How to Fix Error - Backup produces odd error message - "Your computer has been restored to an earlier point in time"?

Backup produces odd error message - "Your computer has been restored to an earlier point in time"

I've been using Windows 7's Backup and Restore to back up the 500-GB hard drive on my laptop.
The hard drive has about 290 GB of data on it; I'm backing up onto an otherwise blank 1-TB USB external drive.
The first backup took a day or two, and used about
400 GB.
The next couple of weekly backups were much faster (less than an hour or two).

When I ran Backup yesterday, it took more than 24 hours to complete.
When it finished, it displayed the message, "Check backup settings - Your computer has been restored to an earlier point in time.
As a result, your backup settings might be out of date." It
gives a backup size of 762 GB.
At most I've only added a few GB of data to my hard drive each week.

Any ideas on what would cause this?  I have never (knowingly) restored this hard drive from a backup, nor have I used System Restore on this computer.

Manually editing the Windows registry

Manually editing the Windows registry to remove invalid MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION keys is not recommended unless you are PC service professional. Incorrectly editing your registry can stop your PC from functioning and create irreversible damage to your operating system. In fact, one misplaced comma can prevent your PC from booting entirely!

Caution: Unless you an advanced PC user, we DO NOT recommend editing the Windows registry manually. Using Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall Windows. We do not guarantee that problems resulting from the incorrect use of Registry Editor can be solved. Use Registry Editor at your own risk.

To manually repair your Windows registry, first you need to create a backup by exporting a portion of the registry related to MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION (eg. Windows Operating System):

  • Click the Start button.
  • Type "command" in the search box... DO NOT hit ENTER yet!
  • While holding CTRL-Shift on your keyboard, hit ENTER.
  • You will be prompted with a permission dialog box.
  • Click Yes.
  • A black box will open with a blinking cursor.
  • Type "regedit" and hit ENTER.
  • In the Registry Editor, select the Error 0x9C-related key (eg. Windows Operating System) you want to back up.
  • From the File menu, choose Export.
  • In the Save In list, select the folder where you want to save the Windows Operating System backup key.
  • In the File Name box, type a name for your backup file, such as "Windows Operating System Backup".
  • In the Export Range box, be sure that "Selected branch" is selected.
  • Click Save.
  • The file is then saved with a .reg file extension.
  • You now have a backup of your MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION-related registry entry.

How to Fix - Avermedia AVerTV Bravo Hybrid PCI-E TV Tuner Card - is it really and fully compatible??

Avermedia AVerTV Bravo Hybrid PCI-E TV Tuner Card - is it really and fully compatible?

I am searching for a digital TV tuner card that is compatible with Windows Media Center and Windows 7 64-bit.  This card is listed on this Microsoft compatibility site as fully compatible.  However the AVerMedia technical support folks are less than enciouraging
about this.  " But we should advise the product you owned is EOL(Ends of Life).
Since we are developing the new models continually with better functions for the users, there is no more plans for RD department to provide upgraded drivers for MCE.
Please kindly
understand the situation and your consideration will be much appreciated.
"  This is their response to my submission stating that Windows Media Center (WMC) does not find any tuner present.
I have a version of this card (same model number but digital tuner only) that appears to work with the AVer Media Center (AMC) but is not recognized by Windows Media Center.  Moreover, the AMC hangs when I launch it a second time after opening it and closing
it.  Also, the card is not usable after resuming from S3 state.  I found several feedback reports at the Newegg site saying this card does work with WMC and does reconnect after resuming from S3 power down state.
I am left wondering if AVerMedia cards suffer from digital anamolies that result in different experiences?  A followup to this responce elicited this response from AverMedia
"In advance, we need to clarify AVerTVHD Bravo support Win7 MCE as the mentioned in our website.
We supposed it's compatibility issue between the card and your desktop.
Refer to some comments from the Newegg link page, there are still some users can't make
the device back to work from S3 sleep state in MCE.
Could you help to confirm if run "windows update" to check if any available updates.
Since the Windows Media Center is a third party software provider, we suggest you contact with the Microsoft customer support
center if the problem persists.

As our understanding, AVerTVHD Bravo function with no issues while operating Avermedia Center in your computer.
It's suggested to run accordingly or try to duplicate it in another desktop since there isn't enough development resources to provide the customized
driver at that time.
Please understand the situation and your consideration will be much appreciated."
My computer is a new build using the Asus P8Z68-VPro and is using LucidLogix Virtu with an Intel i5-2320 and VisionTek Radeon HD5670 video card.  Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit.
I am tempted to mark the MS compatibility page for this card as WRONG but I am more interested to find a card that has proven to work and is backed up by the manufacturer as fully compatible with
WMCWin 7 64-bitresumes OK from S3
Does anyone have any insight to why I am having difficulty with this quest? Does Virtu play into this equation?
Thanks.

Perhaps this is so but should it be?  This is the "year of the Protestor" according to Time and the primary purpose of a TV tuner card in a "PC" is to work with Windows Media Center.  Ironically, it turns out that this card does now appear to work well with
WMC.  The AVerMedia supplied Aver Media Center does not work well and has severe problems that make it unusable.
So your comment is an indictment of AVerMedia if "supporting their own product" is the test of sufficient support.
AVerMedia could have saved me a lot of work it it had simply included information for how to set the card up with WMC and was more forthcoming about the AMC deficiencies.
If you take the argument that a vendor claiming to support another vendors Operating System and associated software is a claim of support ...
well, AverMedia says WMC is supported and Windows 7 is supported.  That is the bottom line for me.  Anyway, my crisis
is over and I am going to close this thread.  Thanks for your comments.

Caution: Unless you an advanced PC user, please do not edit the Windows registry manually.

Because of this risk, we highly recommend using a trusted registry cleaner such as SmartPCFixer Using a registry cleaner automates the process of finding invalid registry entries, missing file references (like the one causing your MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION error), and broken links within the registry. A backup is automatically created before each scan, with the ability to undo any changes in a single click, protecting you against the possibility of PC damage. The best part is that repairing registry errors can also dramatically improve system speed and performance.

The next steps in manually editing your registry will not be discussed in this article due to the high risk of damaging your system. If you would like to learn more about manual registry editing, please see the links below.

How to Resolve - Automatic pagination in Table Headers does not work?

Automatic pagination in Table Headers does not work

Hi:

I have about 100 Word 2010 documents that I need to produce which consist of one table per document.
Each document contains a different table layout.
Each table contains between 3 and 12 header rows that I want to display on each page of the document.
Each table header varies in layout.
Each table header contain page numbers in a cell.
The Pagination format is always Page # of #.

The conditions to reproduce this issue are as follows:
Create a table that contains a common area at the top (the common area will be used as the table header to repeat on each page).
Click in a target Table Header cell you want to place your pagination.
Click the Insert ribbon.
Pull down the Page Number menu.
Click Current Position and select the format you want to display the pagination (Example: Page # of #)

Add at least one row below the Table header area.
Insert something in the Page header area (like a logo).

The steps to reproduce the problem:
Select  the table.
Click Table Tools ribbon > Layout tab.
Select the header rows of the table on page 1 of the Word document (example: the top 12 rows of the table)
Click on the Repeat Header Rows button.
Insert carriage returns into one content column of the table until it
produces a second page in the document.

Result: Page 1 of 1 is still displayed in the Table Header on
page 2 of the document.

Troubleshooting:Auto-formatting of pasted cell text to date... turn it off.

Auto-formatting of pasted cell text to date... turn it off.

When I paste text into Excel, it converts text resembling a date to a date automatically.  The problem is it is not just a format change of the cell, the pasted text is converted to a date, so I can't just change the cell format to get back to the original
text.
My current dilemma is pasting html table data that contains cells with only 10 to a negative power (10 with -n superscript).  Excel recognizes this as a date in October (where n is any whole number from 1 and 31), changing the cell display to n–Oct and the
data entry to 10/n/2010.
Is there any way to keep this from happening?
