Counting data in a Combo Box...

Is it possible to count specific data (by instance using COUNTIF or COUNTIFS...) set by a range of Combo Box options?

To make easy data input on a spreadsheet I've created a Combo Box (up to 5 options).
Now I want to count the number of records, by row, meeting the given criteria.
All data (the 5 options) is alpha (just letters).
Is it possible without VBA? How to do it?

Alternatively, if you use DATAVALIDATION-LISTS instead of ComboBox, you can use Countif, based on Drop-down values to find number of records.

For instance, you make a DataVal.List on Cell J2 (5 Options) and your data is assumed to be in COl.
A
your Fx will be in Cell H2:
=Countif(A:A,J2)
This is simpler than combo box, In fact it works better and with more or less same functionality.
