Cannot do 'Backup and Restore' error 0x81000037

I cannot perform a 'Backup'.  Problem message as follows: Failed while trying to read from the shadow copy on one of the volumes being backed up.
Backup location cannot be found   0x81000037.
 
I tried both a new Cruzer Glide USB Flash drive and a DVD +RW. 
 
This is the first attempt at a Backup/Restore on this laptop (3 years old).  Also, I just had to replace the System Motherboard. 
UPDATE: 10/20/13 After reading other postings of this type of problem, I disabled MSI and was able to perform the Backup.
