cannot boot into vista using normal mode or safe mode with networking - Only safe mode works

When booting normally Vista gives me a BSOD before I get to the logon screen and ndis.sys is mentioned.
When booting in 'safe mode with networking' I get the same.
Safe mode without networking works.
I'm guessing something is wrong with my network drivers
or network system files but don't exactly know what ? I've used sfc /scannow and it didn't find anything wrong.
I used my vista disc to do a startup repair and that didn't help.
I also used Malwarebytes and it can't find any threats.
     Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong with my network drivers or files ?

Boot in Safe Mode:

• Open Run command as previously described
• Type MSConfig
• Click on Boot tab
• Tick Safe boot in Boot option
• Select Network
• Click Apply and OK
• Reboot your system

Your system will boot in Safe mode with Networking. You may now try and open Windows Store and should not see any errors.
