Which is the e-mail client that you are using? Is it Microsoft Outlook, Windows Live or any web based e-mail clients?
2.
What happens when you open the e-mails? Do you get any error messages?
3.
Are you aware of making any changes to the computer prior to the issue?

Machine Throttling

• Go to the Start button.
• In the Search box, type "regedit" (without quotes) and press Enter.
• Look for the following registry key: "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ Microsoft\ SQMClient\Windows\DisabledSessions".
• On the right window pane, delete the subkey: "Machine Throttling".
• Reboot your computer.
